Turnaround is ‘an abrupt or unexpected change, especially one that results in a more favourable situation’ according to the dictionary. Turnaround is a positive, drastic and evident change. 360 degrees means a complete process. In summary, 360 degrees turnaround in my favour essentially means a complete and drastic change in my favour; a change to favour me. There are many business turnaround experts in developed countries. However, our God is the biggest turnaround expert in the whole world. He specialises in the business of turning lives around. God is interested in turning your life around for good in your favour.
What needs a turnaround? Something that is dead, dying or about to die. Something that is bringing continuous loss and no profit. Something that cannot be revived or resuscitated. Something that is not responding to solutions or treatment. Something that has become an embarrassment and insult. All of these require a positive turnaround. Many important keys are required to command a complete turnaround in life. Some of these are described below. The list below is not exhaustive but no one will achieve a complete turnaround without these important steps.
A strong desire for a turnaround
To achieve a 360 degrees turnaround in your favour, you must demonstrate a very strong desire and passion. You must demonstrate a passion and desire that no one or no circumstances can quench or kill. The desire and passion of blind Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52) are a good example for anyone who wants to achieve a positive turnaround. To get anything tangible in life, you must desire it. To get a 360 degrees turnaround, you must demonstrate a very strong desire.
Strong faith for a turnaround
Your desire for a complete turnaround must make you develop a strong faith that will birth your turnaround. Without faith it is impossible to please God and impossible to get any tangible thing from God (Hebrews 11:6). The faith of the woman with the issue of blood was so strong that she said ‘If I can only touch the helm of his garment, I will be healed’ (Matthew 9:21). Such great faith! The centurion described in Matthew 8: 8-10 had a strong faith that Jesus’s word is enough to heal her daughter. You need the kind of faith that will move God to get your complete turnaround.
Step of faith for a turnaround
A strong desire and faith may not get your complete turnaround until you take a step of faith. Desire will remain a desire until you make a move of faith. The four lepers outside the camp (2 Kings 7:3-20) took a big step of faith. The friends of the man with the palsy (Mark 2:1-5) took a big step of faith. In the two stories above, there was a 360 degrees turnaround. Sometimes, the impossible is often the untried. You don’t know what you can do until you make a move. Take a step of faith. Make the application. Speak to the person. Make the call. Attend the conference. Make the move in faith and you will get your complete turnaround.
Wait for your turnaround
Sometimes your turnaround may take longer than you expect. No matter how long it takes, you must wait for your turnaround. Anyone who knows how to wait knows how to be blessed. Those who wait on the Lord shall receive the renewal of strength (Isaiah 40:30-31). Don’t give up on God and don’t give up on your self too. Wait for your turnaround and don’t truncate the process of your turnaround. Your turnaround will definitely come: just wait for it. Naman had to bathe seven times before he got his turnaround (2 Kings 5:1-19). If he didn’t wait till the seventh time, he may not have received his turnaround. A pregnant woman must wait for at least nine months to have her baby. Any attempt to shorten the process could be dangerous for the mother and baby.
Wait for your 360 degrees turnaround, it will definitely come.
You are warmly welcome to the month of May, the fifth month of the year. The number 5 represents grace and it is not surprising that the theme for the month is “Grace is available for me again and again”. May the grace of God be available to you again and again in Jesus name, Amen.
Grace is usually described as unmerited favour. This favour can be explained in two ways: the first is giving you the best things that you don’t deserve while the second is not giving you the punishment you deserve. It is important to understand that grace is a gift. (Ephesians 3:7). It is something we have received. ‘By whom we have received grace’ (Romans 1:5). We cannot earn grace by any standard (Romans 11:6) because we do not qualify for it.
The birth, death and resurrection of Jesus made grace available for everyone. ‘For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men’ (Titus 2:11). However, only those who have given their lives to Christ are the ones God makes grace available for. ‘And of his fullness have we all received, and grace for grace’ (John 1:12). It is only through Jesus that the grace of God is available. Jesus brought the dispensation of grace (Ephesians 3:2).
Grace is crucial for all believers to actualise their God given destinies. We are saved by grace. ‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God’ (Ephesians 2: 8). We are justified by grace. ‘Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus’ (Romans 3:24). We are made rich by grace. ‘For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich’ (2 Corinthians 8:9). We are what we are by his grace. ‘But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me’ (1 Corinthians 15:10). We receive gifts by grace. ‘Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith’ (Romans 12:6). No matter what our circumstances look like, God’s grace is sufficient for us. ‘And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness’ (2 Corinthians 12:9). Where there was once sin, grace abounds more than our sins. ‘Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound’ (Romans 5:20). ‘And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work’ (2 Corinthians 9:8).
Our God is the God of all grace (1 Peter 5:10) and from the riches of His grace God is able to make grace available to you again and again and again in this month. When you accepted Christ, God released grace for you. As long as you remain a child of God, He is able to make grace available for you again now and He is also able to make grace available to you in the future. God will always ensure that you are multiplied in grace (2 Peter 1: 2). God is able to bless you with grace after grace.
When you have grace in abundance what do you need to do it with it? You must grow in grace (2 Peter 3:18). You must be strong in grace (2 Timothy 2:1). You must not frustrate the grace of God (Galatians 2:21). You must not continue in sin and expect that grace will abound (Romans 6:1, Romans 6:15). In this month and beyond, my prayer is that God will make grace available for you again and again and again in Jesus name, Amen.
LET US PRAY
Oh Lord let your grace be available for me once again in Jesus name.
Oh Lord let your grace be sufficient for all my situations and circumstances in Jesus name.
Oh Lord help me grow in grace and be multiplied in grace in Jesus name.
Oh Lord help me not to frustrate your grace upon my life.

Memorise: Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee saith the lord. Jeremiah 1:8
Read: Jeremiah 1:4-10 (KJV)
4 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
Bible in one year: Exodus 6:14-8:32, Psalms 110-111
There are different ways by which God can send His word to His people. The Word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah telling him to fear not the faces of the people He was sending him to because the message He had given him would not be a pleasant message for them. Same was the account of Jonah when he was given a message to the people of Nineveh. Open Heaven Tuesday 29 November 2016:- Fearless Messenger? The message of God to His children is always in various forms. It contains doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness.
(2nd Timothy 3:16). It is always difficult for man to be confronted with his errors and wicked ways, and this was the assignment that God gave Prophet Jeremiah. How I wish there are many prophet Jeremiahs in our land, there would be more revival in our land. Prophets like Jeremiah who will call a spade a spade and not water down the Word of God because of the faces of the people. You cannot entangle yourself with the affairs of this world and still deliver the message of God without bias. There are many men of God who are afraid of the people God is sending them to. The God we serve has not given us the spirit of fear but of boldness and soundness of mind.
You have to be fearless in preaching the Word of God. You must be instant in season and out of season. We live in a time when people do not want to listen to the absolute truth of God’s Word. People are very selective about the kind of messages they listen to. Do you receive the Word with gladness each time the Word points you to the cross? 2nd Timothy 4:3 says:
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;”
God wanted Jeremiah to warn the people about the punishment to come if they would not repent from their ways of wickedness. God told Jeremiah to inform those who were proud and wicked, that the rod of affliction was coming on them. [Open Heavens Devotional 2016] The essence of this message to the people was for them to purge themselves from righteousness. Each time the Word of God comes to you, it is an opportunity to amend your ways before it is too late. God wants you to be a vessel unto honour, sanctified and meet for His use so that you can be prepared for every good work.
Whatever assignment God has given to you, do not be afraid. You will meet with many oppositions and enemies but you can be sure God is by your side. They may look big, but they are not bigger than the One who has sent you. God will always deliver you out of the hand of persecutors. He will not only stand by you as you deliver the Word, He will deliver you from every trouble in the course of the assignment. When God sends you a message, He also backs you with His power. They may not like your face, but you can be sure that once you have declared the counsel of God to them, at the point of judgment; you will not be responsible for their blood.
If God be for you who can be against you?
Memorise: Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 1st Corinthians 4:2
Read: Luke 16:1-8 (KJV)
1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.
3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
5 So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?
6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
Faithfulness is another obligation that God requires of us as human beings and particularly as His children. God is faithful and He wants us to resemble Him with this attribute of faithfulness. In our text today, we read about a steward who was found unfaithful and the master was about to sack him, this unfaithful servant then went about from one debtor to another to falsify records in order to please his master. Open Heaven Monday 28 November 2016:- A Faithful Steward? The efforts this steward put up to regain his master’s approval did nothing for the expansion of his master’s business, but the master still commended him. If the unfaithful servant could go to the extent he went in order to remain in service, why can’t the children of light go a greater extent to please our Father in heaven? The conclusion of our Bible reading says:
“And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely; for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.”
Another lesson we can learn from this story is that your upward movement to the next level is predicated upon how well you perform in your present level of operation. Luke 16:11-12 says:
“If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteousness mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s who shall give you that which is your own?”
Beloved, the Lord is interested in promoting you. As a matter of fact, your promotion is long overdue. I am happy to announce to you that this is your time, however, what are you doing with your present level of position? Are you productive or you are hoarding your ideas so that you can have something to use when you come to a leadership position? You are just destroying and delaying your progress if this is your attitude. To be faithful simply means to be full of faith. Do you have faith in the organisation you are working with? You will not be at your best if you don’t have faith in that organisation you work with? Proverbs 22:29 says:
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings he shall not stand before mean men.”
Daniel was a typical faithful steward. 28 November 2016 Open Heaven. This is how he survived four generations of rulers – Nebuchadnezzar, Darius, Cyrus and Belshazzar. The faithfulness of Mordecai saved the entire Jewish race during the reign of Ahasuerus. My prayer is that you will be highly favoured by the virtue of your faithfulness in Jesus’ name.
Father, I want to be faithful, please take away from me the spirit of unfaithfulness in Jesus’ name.
